Qualified massage, spa and bodywork therapist of the past 30 years Susan has trained and practised extensively in the UK, USA, The Netherlands, Norfolk Island and NZ. She is delighted to now be offering a combination of her therapeutic treatments in her hometown of New Plymouth under the name ‘bySusan’ massage & bodywork

Her trainings have been in Swedish massage – relaxation & remedial, acupressure, myofascial, aromatherapy, reflexology, cranio-sacral therapy, pregnancy massage, reiki mastership, Spa Facials and Hot Stone therapy.

Susan combines her versatile skill set, years of experience and healing touch to help her clients fulfil their needs. Susan loves the power of human touch and is proud to be of 5th generation Tahitian Decent. The artistic piece of work in her treatment room is a depiction of her ancestor Mauatua holding a baby and Taro leaves. Taro is symbolic in representing family union, tradition & genealogy. Mauatua is never far, and Susan's studio garden is overflowing with the presence of Taro.

A combination massage using the techniques of Swedish, myofascial, neuromuscular, trigger points, craniosacral and reiki. Initial consultation before each treatment allows you to communicate which style of massage you would like. This can range from firmer deep tissue to relaxation & energy based or a combination of both.

Helps to relax the mind and muscles while easing discomforts often associated with pregnancy. Starts with dry body brushing for optimal circulation and lymphatic support to help with swelling in pregnancy. Followed by a full body relaxation massage including gentle belly massage and warm facial towel compress to complete this heavenly treatment. Suitable during 12 - 40 weeks. Remained fully clothed for this deeply relaxing touch therapy which may benefit in alleviating stress, anxiety, insomnia and feelings of overwhelmness. A perfect first time treatment for those new to massage and therapeutic touch. Includes a scalp massage if you wish.
